Ten50 PH1, the penthouse of the Ten50 tower, a 22-story structure in downtown Los Angeles, is the culminating expression of the building of which it is part. Ten50 is designed as a series of vertical and horizontal pushes and pulls, extrusions of geometry that dynamize the skyscraper form. It is an assembly of crisp, contemporary materials accented by patterned surfaces. Ten50 PH1 is one of the volumes that breaks away from the tower shaft; it is a flying space that looks out over the city below. Its materiality steps that of the rest of the building into the realm of chic sophistication. It is articulated in contrasting light and dark smooth wood flooring and paneling. It features shining glass and metallic stairs, partitions, and fixtures. The two-story, 3600 square-foot condominium is a showcase of custom millwork and interior composition.
