    HansonLA is currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 10+ years’ experience and demonstrated leadership skills to join our growing team. The appropriate candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and will have the capability to work efficiently within a collaborative studio. This is an advanced position at HansonLA and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding professional environment and can fulfill leadership roles on projects. Our interiors projects range in size from 10,000 to 80,000 square feet and include renovations, expansions, and new construction. Experience in both design and production is a huge plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Experience and proficiency in all phases of design projects from conception to completion

    • Manage client interactions and effectively guide the client through the design process

    • Ensure the accuracy of code compliance and design intent for all plans

    • Effectively manage project hours and costs for each phase of a project

    • Takes initiative on strategic issues including design direction and providing quality management

    • Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts with ability to develop functional requirements and project-design criteria

    • Demonstrate advanced understanding and experience in the application of planning, programming, and design principles and methods

    • Provide coaching and mentorship to support the professional development of junior staff

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Architecture, Master’s in Architecture, or Bachelor of Interior Design

    • 10+ years’ experience as an Interiors Project Designer

    • Ability to think and draw in 3d

    • Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards, and application of building codes and specifications

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite Programs

    • Strong ability to think critically about planning, design, materials, budgets, and schedules

    • Understanding of materials and their appropriate application and costs, construction methods, detailing, and MEP concepts

    • Experience directing or managing junior staff

    • Strong graphic and presentation skills

    • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills

    • Licensed in the state of California is a plus

    • LEED certified is a plus

    Bachelor’s in Architecture, Architectural Studies, Architectural Techologies or similar degree, and 24 months experience in architectural design. In lieu of primary requirements employer will accept a Master’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Studies, Architectural Techologies or similar degree. Special requirements: must have demonstrated proficiency in and use of the following architectural technologies: Autocad, REVIT, Rhinoceros, V-ray, ABS & Powder 3D printing, and Adobe Creative Suite. Employer will accept Special Requirements gained through employment experience and/or academic coursework. An architect license is not required. All work will be supervised by a licensed architect.

    Duties

    The Architectural Design Staff II will perform the following duties:

    • Prepare scale drawings or architectural designs using computer-aided design, such as Revit, or other tools;

    • Provide three-dimensional (3D) visualization for architectural and interior projects, using Revit, Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, and V-ray or other design software to create and develop design models using ABS & Powder 3D printing and produce graphics;

    • Apply Revit to compile civil or survey drawings to create a comprehensive site plan for context analysis, 3D modeling, or report graphics;

    • Model, render, and montage rendered images into project site photos with people and context;

    • Plan or design structures, including residences such as custom and multi-family homes, commercial buildings, and mixed-use development structures;

    • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary;

    • Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs and layout and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings using computer-assisted drafting (Revit) equipment and software;

    • Prepare 2D and 3D presentations for clients, meet clients to review or discuss architectural drawings;

    • Perform ad hoc research projects assigned by management and address other company concerns, including but not limited to energy-efficient building materials methods and architecture styles;

    • Remain abreast with building codes, fire regulations, zoning laws, and city ordinances when creating and drawing plans. With respect to public buildings, be aware of disability access laws and stay up-to-date on policy, zoning and regulatory changes.

    HansonLA is currently seeking a Project Architect with 10+ years’ experience and demonstrated leadership skills to join our growing team. The appropriate candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and will have the capability to work efficiently within a collaborative studio. This is an advanced position at HansonLA and is responsible for project management and delivery. As a project lead, the PA will effectively move projects forward, lead the internal team, coordinate with consultants, and develop all items agreed to in the contract.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for various portions of project development in the following phases: Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents

    • Perform code review and work with various governing agencies for code compliance

    • Coordinate engineering consultants, clients, and other members of the team for medium to large scale projects

    • Assist in supervising project document control tasks and maintain quality control of such tasks

    • Lead and assist project teams in preparing construction documents, permit documents, and bidding documents

    • Lead Construction Administration tasks including checking shop drawings, samples, and submittals

    • Knowledge of major building systems and ability to proactively lead coordination with engineers to maintain design intent and project goals

    • Provide coaching and mentorship to support the professional development of junior staff

    HansonLA is currently seeking an Intermediate Architect with a 5-7 years’ experience and demonstrated leadership skills to join our growing team. The appropriate candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and will have the capability to work efficiently within a collaborative studio. This is an intermediate position at HansonLA and the role will a share responsibility for project delivery and management.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as project support through all phases of medium to large projects

    • Manage various portions of project development including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents

    • Assist in supervising project document control tasks across all projects and maintain quality control of such tasks

    • Participate in working through design iterations and presentations with project teams during the design phase

    • Prepare design development and construction documentation and client presentation materials

    • Review and coordinate details and dimensions

    • Perform code review and documentation
