Douglas Hanson, FAIA, led his firm as the interior designer of these twin towers with over 640 residences. Hanson was asked by the client to create two unique entry lobbies that would be timeless, iconic, and international in their use of materials and completed on a strict, modest budget. Hanson created a strong collaboration with the fabrication teams to facilitate open lines of communication and ensure the design could be complete within time and budget.

HansonLA’s use of a digital model allowed this project to be readily managed and checked, staying within the tight budget of
the client. They developed a striking design and clearly communicated the complexities to the fabricator, resulting in high craftsmanship in a distinct new space. Since completion, the residential towers have become a highly desirable residence in a competitive downtown market. The lobbies have been central in defining the Circa brand and were completed within budget—resulting in a financial and design success for the client.
