Javier’s downtown Los Angeles branch, at 16,000 square-feet and 365 seats, is located on 12th Street in the Circa residential high-rise, for which HansonLA was the design architect. HansonLA supported the development of the restaurant’s interiors—which are designed around a large custom bar and tequila tasting room. Finishes and furnishings throughout—from arched ceilings to rounded booths to tailored lighting—push the limits of Baja California style. Stonework, in an array of sizes and colors of Spanish travertine and marble, overlays the design’s organic forms with rectilinear patterns. Plantings bring the outdoors in and an add-on curved façade that extends three-stories above a thematic entry plaza bring the inside out.
