HansonLA melded together earth tone hues with natural materials, textures, and patterns in a design that creates a luxurious and elevated dining experience for this Las Vegas Restaurant. Working closely with the client to provide a unique experience for their first Las Vegas restaurant, the architects introduced a series of organically shaped, hand-troweled cement forms that mimic the desert landscape.

Upon entering, guests are welcomed with an informal lounge. The space is organized with an array of comfortable seating options that introduce the textures and colors of the desert landscape. A large, circular bar is boldly positioned as a transitional moment between the lounge and the two primary dining areas. Behind the bar, walnut shelves line the curved walls and frame the organic shapes in a series of handmade pottery. An oversized, irregularly-shaped booth that anchors the dining room is topped with a dry flower sculpture by the Los Angeles- based floral artist, Khôi Nguyen. A custom light fixture hangs overhead and lights the booth and abstract arrangement. Oversized, organic columns recall large rock formations and bring varied moments to the overall landscape. In the back of the restaurant, an intimate private dining room is surrounded by metal drapery and marked by a long concrete table with a linear, brass chandelier.

The primary use of concrete and plaster create continuity between the floors and walls, recalling the natural environment that inspires the design. A layered landscape of undulating, hand-sewn fabric strips hung from the ceiling contrasts the hard finishes that define the floors and features below, bringing fluidity and softness into the space. Moments of wood, handmade brick tiles, and textured fabric add richness and depth. Handmade pottery sourced from vintage stores throughout Mexico dot the landscape, introducing layers of organic shapes and forms. Together, the interior design and cuisine transport guests to a moment in Mexico through a highly-crafted and refined experience.
