Canyon Heights is a spec house in the Hollywood Hills, designed to be shown to potential buyers. The massing and shape are derived from the site’s steep slope, the limitations imposed by the local Hillside Ordinance and finding opportunities between the existing vegetation and neighboring houses to feature views of Los Angeles. Prevailing winds and sun studies were also considered to arrive at its final form.

The main floor is divided by a pergola covered dining area, with open public areas on one side, and private living spaces to the other. The bedrooms are nestled underneath the main floor and carved into the hill.
