The interior design of the 2 and 3 bedroom penthouse apartments play off the curves of the building. The gentle lines of the Hanbok were the inspiration for the two and 3-dimensional curves which are part of every unit. The organization of the units was driven by the client’s desire to have an expansive great room at the entry and provide framed views to the adjacent park and downtown Los Angeles. The materials draw inspiration from the urban environment that is directly outside the door at the edge of LA’s Koreatown along with the five colors that are associated with the five elements of traditional Korean culture: Blue: Wood. Red: Fire. Yellow: Earth. White: Metal. Black: Water. Integrated lighting reinforces the shape of the curves and does not distract from nighttime views of the city drives the lighting design.

Modern interior space with large glass windows and an open view of a cityscape, featuring a curved ceiling and minimalist design elements.
