The project includes two sites just off the pier and the strand in Hermosa Beach, California. The project is the combination of a luxury amenity rich boutique hotel and a destination restaurant. Spread across two sites, the hotel sits off the beach and will be a quiet, inward focused and arranged around landscaped courtyards. The hotel on the beach will be much smaller and share the building with the restaurant and bar. The beach front building is a combination of large and small indoor and outdoor spaces on the strand and on the rooftop.

The Strand Site
The Beach front site is both a small hotel with a limited number of rooms and a destination restaurant. The design integrates the hotel and the restaurant into a single building blurring the lines between the two. Based on a wave at its break point the building massing and geometry reflect that energy, a building in motion. The lobby for the hotel will also be the breakfast room for the restaurant serving both guests and the public. The hotel is spread out on three floors while the restaurant is anchored by a large dining room at the ground with outdoor seating under a large canopy along the beach. At the second floor is a rooftop bar and out door deck with 360 degree views.
